A tripeptide (gamma-glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine) made in nearly every human cell. Glutathione injections are approved medicines in some countries, such as Japan (Tathion) and Italy (TAD), but the FDA, the EMA and Health Canada have not approved a glutathione medicine. Its oxidised form is only a minor ingredient of approved eye irrigation solutions, and Health Canada has licensed some oral glutathione supplements as natural health products.
