An 83-amino-acid analogue of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), with arginine in place of glutamic acid at position 3 and a 13-amino-acid extension at the start, made for cell-culture research. The FDA, the EMA and Health Canada have not approved it; mecasermin (Increlex), which is unmodified IGF-1, is approved in all three but is a different molecule.
